The Workbasket Pillowcase by Tracy
My Piece in Cross Country Stitcher's Open Round Robin finally returned to me a few weeks ago. Go here to see the beginning and here to see one of the pieces I stitched for the other members. Go here to see this fabric on another piece and here to see the companion piece to this Workbasket design. When I opened it, it was like meeting a long lost friend again. I had some finishing touches to add to the stitching and then I had to decide how I wanted to finish it. The design is called God's Critters and is stitched on 14 count fiddler's cloth with dmc variations and some other specialty threads. Here are my results: I decided to make it into this small pillow case. I love the fabric and am pleased with how it turned out.

Blackbird Designs Their Song

My last finish for 2007: Blackbird Designs, Their Song. This one is another piece for my scrapbook. I added labels that spell out Quaker and Cherries since I felt those items were part of the theme; the other labels acknowledge the designer and name of the design and the fabric that I used, 28 count lambswool jobelyn. The terra cotta "wallpaper" background with the ornate designs matched nicely and I added another ornate design in black and gray.

Here is a close up of the complete cross stitch design.

I am really enjoying my scrapbooking venture and all of the creativity that I can put into it. So far, I have 3 pages done out of 20 available. I have 2 more older designs that I plan to add soon. It should take me all of 2008 to fill this book up.

New Member here
Hi, I am a new member here and I just love Quaker inspired needlework.
I have been stitching for about 35 years and I really love it. I have completed at least 8 or 9 pieces from very large to small. You can visit my webshots photo album and view all my completed works and wip. I have completed Long Dog's The Token, Sampler Cove's A quaker Sampler, Quaker a 6 main, Serenity by EFTH and Blackbird designs Quaker garden but I did it in red. Also, various small quakers. Hope you enjoy viewing my pics and I'll keep in touch.
Thanks,

New Member
Hi I'm Meg and have just joined this group. I live in Scotland and married a Quaker a year ago who introduced me to the Quaker tapestry. I have now been on 2 courses and then found your blog on google searching for quaker stitching and realised the similarities to blackwork which I've been designing for about 4 years now.
I look forward to learning more from you all about quaker stitching, develop my skills and joining in with your stitching projects.

Another Newbie
Thank you so much for letting me join the group. I am looking forward to stitching with you. I plan to start "A Quaker Christmas" on Christmas Eve. I will be using cream Edinborough and DMC floss colors 934, 498, and 781. I have many other Quaker patterns in my stash and hope to stitch a few of them this coming year.

Greetings from SoCal
Greetings fellow Quaker enthusiasts! I'm new to the group. My name is Melissa and I live in southern California in the United States. I love stitching Quaker samplers and smalls. I have a couple of different samplers as WIPs right now (Quaker Row, The Token, and Quaker a 6 Mains). I'm hoping becoming a part of this group will help inspire me to take them from WIPs to finishes.

My most recent sampler finish was Quaker Samplings I from With My Needle. I stitched it on 32-count Cameo Lugana from Silkweaver using 1 strand of Tennessee Red Clay floss from Crescent Colors. Here's a picture of it:

I have a blog and online photo album. Here are the links for those:

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better, although I see several familiar names in the member list. I can't wait to see all of your beautiful Quakers, too.

Hello !!
Hello! I'm Diana, from Spain.
I love cross-stitching and bobbin lace. I also like to do "cartonnage" and mainly use my cross stitch patterns to make different boxes.
I have recently come across quaker patterns and I can't get my eyes out of them!!
I came across this blog when I was looking for information.
Well, that's it!!! Thanks.

Christmas message
Hello Quaker stitchers.
I've been away this last time, due to other things that called my attention.
In the next year I will try to be more present, and to stich more quaker pieces of course :).
With this target, I've opened a poll on the blog (you can find it in the left column). Vote it.
I wish to welcome all the new members,
and wish to all Quaker stitchers a very merry Christmas time.
