I finished up the stitching on the ornament I started last week - but now that it is finished I wonder if "ornament finishing" is what I want to do to the piece -

I also started another ornament - the Reindeer form the JCS 2006 - here is my start -

I was the recipient of a most wonderful flat fold yesterday. Mercy from New York sent me a great exchange!!!!! The stitched piece is the Turtle finished off as a flat fold!
Here is a snap of the Turtle -

The picture is a bit dark as Mr Turtle is done is a lovely shade of "Cool Blue."
Not only did Mercy send this beautifully finished piece but she included such great "extra goodies." I was truly gifted by a wonderful and kind giver!!! Thank you so much!!!

Yesterday, I've received a wonderful exchange from Edgar!

He stitched "Quaker Rooster" for me and made it into Pyn Keep!
Amazingly beautiful, isn't it!
I DO really love it and he sent me so many wonderful goodies, too!

My Quaker animal left last Thursday and should arrive at its new home in a week or so!!

I really wanted to get something framed and out of the "drawer." So I pulled out the BP Sampler that we did as a SAL last year. I picked it up from the framers yesterday and I think it turned out great!! Here is a snap -

I really enjoyed the SAL - can't wait for another....... :)

Here is a snap of the finished piece - I made this a a memorial piece...... the initials are those of my grandparents and my dad.

It was a great piece to stitch and I can't wait for the next SAL

Just a quick update on the Quaker styled "Serenity " I'm working on.
I am almost there with the finish, here is a quick snap.

I had a computer crash last week so I had to wait until today to post this update on SERENITY.....I put in my puppies initials on the right and on the other side are my nieces and nephews initials. I am almost finished with the medallions then it is on the the alphabet and the leaf border.This weekend I went to Alameda to "Needle in a Haystack" my LNS and did some looking about and finally, after much deliberation picked this combo for the upcoming BP - SAL. This picture really does not show how well I think these go together. What I chose to work on is a 32 count Belfast Linen called "Vintage Autumn Field" the floss is Soie d'Alger # 4625, which is a really deep wine coloured floss. As I was going over the different pieces of linen I was amazed at the difference in the patterning of the dye lots. I laid out 5 or six pieces of linen all labeled 32 count BL, VAF but they were all so completely different. This particular piece looks like it has had wine spilt all over it and then wrung out leaving a very mottled appearance all over.Can't wait to start.
